About the project

Giselle Bedding specialises in producing mattresses, bedding and linen, which are designed to complement each other in achieving the perfect sleep for the discerning. Because they believe everyone should deserve a good rest each time they lay down on their bed.

The problem

  1. There is a lack of information for the mattress, especially for features and functions.
  2. Too many categories are shown but lack clear navigation to help customers find what they want.

Possible solution

  1. Introduce mattress specification charts, listing all the differences and similarities, making it easy for people to decide.
  2. Implement a quiz section, giving suggestions based on customers' unique sleep profile.
  3. Improve the navigation.

Research

I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users I was designing for and their needs. A primary user group identified through research was willing to spend money on mattresses because they believe good sleep is essential for a better life. However, under COVID-19, it becomes impossible for them to try the mattress at the store. They want to know more about the product spec during online shopping.

Besides, people who have a special need, such as strong support to relieve back pain or shoulder pain, they hope they can choose the right mattress without visiting the store.

Persona

I am looking for a mattress that can fulfil my special needs without trying out instore under COVID-19 restriction.
